More woes for Enrique as Newcastle United outplays PSG at Saint James' Park.

Saint James’ Park was the place to be as the Magpies hosted French Champions Paris Saint German in the 2nd matchday of the UEFA Champions league group stage games.

Eddie Howe’s men brought Champions League back to Newcastle’s fortress for the first time in 20 years.

Fans turned up in their large numbers at the Stadium located at Tyneside as they looked to witness the emotional and memorable return of their darling club to the competition.

Newcastle put out a very strong lineup with former Real Sociedad man,Alexander Isak leading the line.

Sandro Tonali, Antony Gordon,Bruno Guimarães,Kieran Tripper,Dan Burn and Miguel Almiron were all among the starters for the Magpies.

Paris Saint German also came into the tie with full force as Gonçalo Ramos,Ousmane Dembele,Randal Kolo Muani and Star striker,Kylian Mbappé all started in attack for them.

Paris Saint German started on the front foot, dominating play and stringing together passes,trying to wear out Newcastle but it was not to be.

Miguel Almiron drew first blood in the 17th minute as PSG were caught napping while playing out from the back and Alexander Isak pounced on the ball and fired a shot which was parried out by Donnarruma but Miguel Almiron was there on the follow up to put the ball in the back of the net.

In the 37th minute of the encounter,Newcastle were awarded a freekick and a fantastic ball was put into the box and after various attempts with Donnarumma pulling a fantastic save off the crossbar,he was finally beaten by a bullet header from Dan Burn which gave Newcastle the two goal cushion as he scored his first-ever Champions League goal, in just his second game in the competition.

Newcastle were not done yet.Barely 5 minutes into the second half,Sean Longstaff was played through down the right hand side of the attack and fired a low shot straight down the throat of Donnarumma but he could do nothing about it as it cannoned off his hand into the net.

PSG pulled one goal back in the 56th minute through Lucas Hernandez after a patient buildup leading to a cross from Warren Zaīrre Emery over the defence line of Newcastle,leaving Hernandez with nothing to do but put that ball in the back of the net.

It was merely a consolation as Fabian Schar won the ball in the midfield convincingly and played a quick pass to Jacob Murphy who laid it perfectly to him,for a fantastic strike into the top right corner of Donnarumma’s post leaving him with no chance,and sealing the three points for Newcastle.

Newcastle United have now gotten their first win in the competition,at Saint James’ Park since 2003 after a dream start to their Champions League journey.
