Hwang Hee Chan the hero as Wolverhampton Wanderers stun Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City took a trip to Molineaux stadium to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a bid to continue their perfect and unblemished start the Premier League season.

However, it was not to be as former Bournemouth manager, Gary O’niel and his boys had other plans.

Wolverhampton Wanderers took the lead in the 13th minute of the encounter as Pedro Neto continued his blistering start to the Premier League season, making a fantastic run into the City box after beating two challenges and attempting a cut back which Ruben Dias deflected into his own net.

City, however, pulled one back through Julian Alvarez as he scored a fantastic freekick perfectly placed into the top right corner, beyond Portuguese, José Sa. The young Argentine has now scored two goals via freekick for Manchester City this season.

Manchester City tried to take the lead but the Wolves defense denied them and kept the Champions quiet.

All was set for a draw until Korean winger Hwang Hee Chan slotted home very easily after a defensive mixup by Manchester City in the 66th minute.

Wolverhampton Wanderers then held on to their lead till the end, putting in a good defensive performance to hand City their second consecutive defeat in one week and their first defeat in the Premier League, destroying their perfect start to the season.
