“I can not say Peseiro will continue as the Super Eagles coach”- Ibrahim Gusau on Peseiro contract situation

Nigerian Football Federation’s President, Ibrahim Gusau has now confirmed Negotiations with Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro, The President also confirmed that there will be some changes to the previous agreement.

“I can not say Peseiro will continue as the Super Eagles coach, we have a Technical Committee and we have to listen to their recommendation. I am optimistic Nigerians will be happy with our decision”. Ibrahim Gusau says.

The president further stated that discussions is currently ongoing with the Portuguese coach.

“We are discussing with Peseiro and his lawyers and we hope to conclude with him soon. We have the last qualifying game next month and we should make a statement before the game.” Gusau concluded

Jose Peseiro’s contract with the Football Federation expired in June, The former Porto and Sporting Lisbon head coach already qualified Nigeria to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, doing so with a game to spare after 3-2 win over Sierra Leone.
