Paris 2024: Tobi, Ezekiel qualify for the Olympics

The duo of Tobi Amusan and Ezekiel Nathaniel have both qualified for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

Tobi, world record holder of the 100m hurdles became the first Nigerian to book her spot in Paris at the Bauhaus-Galan Diamond League event in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 2, clocking a time 12.52secs in the 100m hurdles race.

Nathaniel, the Nigeria 400m hurdles record holder earned his ticket to his first ever Olympics at the World Athletics event in Budapest, Hungary.

The 20-year-old clocked a time of 48.47secs, surpassing the entry standard of 48.70secs.

To qualify for the Olympics, athletes must either achieve the entry standard set by the World Athletics or qualify through the World Athletics ranking.

The entry standard and ranking are between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.

Both Tobi and Ezekiel have qualified via the entry standard.
