This gave early rewards as South Korean attacker Son Heung Min put Tottenham into the lead very early into the first half but unfortunately, it was ruled out for offside.

Arsenal got into the driver’s seat in the 26th minute when Bukayo Saka, played a beautiful ball into the box and Cristian Romero placed the ball perfectly into his own net beyond goalkeeper Vicario.

Spurs goalkeeper, Vicario made some fantastic saves, one of which denied Gabriel Jesus from scoring in his third North London Derby since joining Arsenal from City.

David Raya also pulled a fantastic save at the other end to deny Brennan Johnson his first Tottenham goal as the first ended one all draw.

The second began as the first half ended. The home team had their pressure counting as Cristian Romero had a day to forget with a handball from Ben White’s hit in the 18-yard box.

This resulted in an Arsenal penalty which was easily dispatched by the 2023 Young Player of the Year award winner Bukayo Saka. He made no mistake in putting the ball into the back of the net straight down the middle to restore the lead to Arsenal in the 54th minute of the encounter.

Barely, a minute later, Tottenham gave a swift response through skipper, Heung Min Son benefiting from another assist from England International and former Leicester City player, James Maddison after an error from substitute Jorginho.
