Super Sunday: Gunners conquer the Devils at the Emirates.

An absolutely breath-taking,pulsating and rib-cracking encounter was up for grabs in the Premier League on another Super Sunday fixture.

Both teams were not to be caged as each had their moments of brilliance and thrilled the fans.

Arsenal started on the front foot,knocking on all the doors,probing United while making sure they held on to position but it was not to be as United were well structured defensively.

But in the 27th minute of the encounter,Kai Havertz’s mistake in midfield proved to be costly as he was caught out of possession and Cristian Eriksen played a beautiful pass through to Marcus Rashford who made no mistake in curling an effort past goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who stood no chance.

Barely seconds after,Gabriel Martinelli proved his class as he pulled the ball back expertly for captain Martin Ødegaard to slot home his second goal of the season.

In the second half,the pressure died down and both teams played safe football at the early stages.

In the 59th minute of the encounter,Kai Havertz was thought to have been fouled by Aaron Wanbissaka in the 18-yard but after reviews by Antony Taylor on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), It was decided that it was not a penalty.

Alejandro Garmacho thought he had stolen the three points for United in the 89th minute of the encounter but it was not to be as Gabriel Malgalhäes was able to play him offside by a slim margin.

Therefore,the game remained in a one-all draw.

Declan Rice proved to be a very important signing for Mikel Arteta as the British record signing for the club put Arsenal ahead with a beautiful volley which cannoned off the boot of returnee Johnny Evans to give them the lead in the 6th minute of added time.

Five minutes later, substitute Gabriel Jesus came off the bench to seal the three points for Arsenal after a beautiful and swift counter attack by the Gunners which saw Fabio Viera play a beautiful pass for Brazilian while he did the rest by giving Johnny Evans a run for his money and carefully slotting the ball past Andre Onana to condemn Manchester United to the defeat.

It is also interesting to note that Arsenal are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games against Manchester United at the Emirates (W5 D1), and have now won three consecutive home league games against them for the first time since May 1991.
