Three referees from the Ibadan Referees Society (IRS), a body associated with the Ibadan Football Council (IFC) have passed the National Fitness Test and are set to officiate in the forthcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The referees include FIFA badged Usman Majid Olaide, Muyiwa Ladoja and Adewale Adeniyi who are both grade one referees respectively.

The national fitness test is done on a yearly basis in Abuja. It is a necessary prerequisite for referees to take part in the NPFL.

Hundreds of referees from various societies and states across the country converged at the nation’s capital over the weekend for the annual fitness ritual observed before the commencement of each soccer season.

The NPFL 2023/2024 season will kick off on September 9, 2023.
